More information please?

I can almost guarantee that JLR don't make the hoses, they are made by another manufacturer, possibly not even in the U.K., just like the Gates hoses that adorn Aussie Holden and Ford cars are made in the Philippines.

My biggest gripe is with the hard plastic fuel line running from front to back

Totally agree, look at the rubbish they are peddling as Valve Lash Caps for the 300TDi's, can't even get the surfaces flat or even.
Now I know what Lotza says is probably true and they have some Indian Urchins turning out these caps in their millions in some back alley in Mumbai, BUT they are putting the Land Rover name on this crap and charging top $ for it, Shame on you Land Rover Shame, my rant over, BTW I just purchased a set of (16) valve lash caps from Crane, so I have 8 spares for $38 + post., Regards Frank.

My biggest gripe is with the hard plastic fuel line running from front to backLand Rover has been using hard plastic fuel lines since the 1960s, it is actually safer because it doesn't harden and develop stress cracks like copper or brass and doesn't rust like bundy tube.

It is however vulnerable to heat by poor routing or wrongly fitting exhaust pipes.

"It is however vulnerable to heat by poor routing" the poor routing comes standard

Have changed mine to flexible rubber fuel hose from tank to engine and back again. Hard plastic hoses and push on connectors are, I agree, rubbish. It would be nice if some auto manufacturer would produce a no-frills, easy to maintain, honest to God 4WD (Landies used to be like that)

Are they a yellow'ish/clear colour. Ryslan maybe? My old Citroens have these. If you don't damage it, it appears to last forever (unlike rubber lines). The rubber bit between the fuel pump and plastic always needs replacing, but never the plastic part.

does this mean after 15 years Grumble's fuel lines are likely to break? or melt? or perish? He has just celebrated his 15th birthday with another trip through the desert.

Rilsan is Nylon but the raw material is not made by DuPont (they own the Nylon name). Black gives the best UV resistance but any colour is available.
The 'Nylon' lines on my Series II & Series III are still OK.
