I am pretty much a KISS type of person....1st deefy, lets do a dual battery install (done 4 in other 4bys which isn't the issue) but what the bloody hell is this +ve terminal block

and why can't I see it on other peoples dual battery installs?

Have searched this site heaps to find an answer but can't see any (however plenty of dual battery set ups without this block in it).

Cheers in advance for help

kind of unsure what your talking about as I assume your not asking where is the positive battery clamp is.
I only know td5s so yours might be different
but there should be two leads.
one will go to the starter solenoid and the other to the fuse box under the drivers seat. or where ever they put the main fuse box (one with the big fuses) now days
Hope that clears it up.
Most dual bat installs on a fendy will simply separate and connect the primary and secondary bats from/to each other.
are you doing something different?

It's a mega-fuse (500a) fuse holder for the starter supply.
You can't see it on that install because it doesn't fit on an Optima battery (due to the terminal locations) so it's been removed.
You could see it on my dual battery install though - coz' I used Odyssey batteries.

Mine has it. I retained the original battery and did it like this.

thks for info guys.....N plus one....can't seem to find any pics of your install....any chance you can put a link in pls

Wow 500 amp fuse....I normally run 100amp fuses but never a 500amp.

Is the 500amp necessary? I would have thought the wires would become the weak spot in a setup like this & fry b4 the fuse blows.

I normally run a 100amp megafuse either side of the isolator (as close as I can to the batteries).....never had a problem doing it like this b4.....is this ok for deefys?

I'll try and get some pics tonight, but I'm just using the Devon 4x4 tray with Odysseys.
The 500a fuse is needed as its for the starter feed - a 100a fuse is way too small for that role.
