Hi guys,

New to the forum and recently returned to Land Rover after a 4 year Toyota experiment....

I'm now the proud owner of my first Defender (I've had Rangies in the past) a 2003 TD5 90. It's due for a service and I've been looking around for service kits (oil, oil 2, fuel) and have found that the price variance is significant.

Any suggestions on brands to look for (or avoid)? and any places I can get them at a reasonable price (Repco prices have proven quite alarming).

I'd also appriciate any tips & tricks anyone has, plus with 220,000km on the clock is there anything I should be keeping an eye on or replacing just in case?

Thanks

hello and welcome back to landrover :D haha love it, toyota experiment! i did that also just not for so long, but tried nissan, holden, etc after growing up in a landy family, and with rangies. i finally got my own landrover too earlier this year!

a lot of others on here would be better at suggesting the awesome brands, etc. but britparts are good, and these guys are great for parts too. they were awesome recently when i dealt with them and shipping was really prompt! others probably have better recommendations than me though :)

I've always used Mahle filters as they were supplied to me in the UK, and they are of a good quality. Also used to use Baldwin, but of late they've gone from being US made to Chinese Made....

i use paddocks in the uk, I use all genuine and its actually really cheap. Shipping is usually around 4 or 5 days. Theres not a lot in it at the end of the day with no name or genuine. Especially every ten thousand km change, nothing at all by then
