Something that I have noticed in the deefer is the narrow window ledge that makes a pretty poor arm rest. Its fine when the window is open but thats not a popular option in Katoomba in winter!

I was browsing the net earlier and found a south african mob that make a arm rest that attaches somehow to the window sill.

The one online looks to be quite long and nicely padded but it looks pretty simple and not beyond my abilities to make something up. I was thinking of a nice strip of wood polished and screwed to the top of the door trim at the window sill. Im not sure whats under there and will obviously have to look under there to see what I am screwing into....

Has anyone made one up?

James
The misses has indicated that I have to do something similar on the passenger side before we go on holidays from Bris vagus to Forster. Would be interested if you do something to see how you have done it. If I get there before you I'll take some photos and post.
Cheers Glen

The Seth Efriken stuff was a little disappointing, bit too craft-market for me. Something matching the door trim and mounted at elbow height would be nice. I've often wondered about mounting a Range-Rover style fold-down armrest to the door side of the seat.

Oh my goodness am I the only one that is thinking Man Up!! :Rolling:
you own a puma the heater in a puma is hot enough to melt your retinas when it just in the red on the dial...Dial and down I say :p:D
Thats why defender drivers are not clean cut chisled looking men, because they grow beards and frown from the rain coming in (sometimes even with the window shut!) I'm even considering growing a beard to fit in, so as to not let down the defender fraternity:D
an "ARM REST"?????!!!!!!

Even my wheely chair has arm rests. The only seat I spent any significant time on without arm rests is the loo..... but come to think of it..... it wouldnt be so hard to rig something up....... :BigThumb:

What it really needs is for someone to manufacture new door cards with built in leather padded indentations where the elbows would go. Preferably new door cards that don't cost a fortune, and were a bit more heavy duty than the originals. May be held on with Hex Head stainless bolts instead of evil little plastic things. Perhaps made out of pressed alloy, with a leather covering on the top half.....
