Just took delivery of this (for a friend who is making a Movie). Makes those mamby-pamby unimogs that the army is getting rid of look like luxo wagons.

This one's got heaps of airconditioning and the rear drive looks 'interesting':

It is 97 years old, and I think it is an Alvis.

Twin chain rear drive. The dashboard is a full side to side fuel tank, with no instruments or indicators or anything. Basic as.

Put a set of muddies on it. it'd go well.

And a Toyota badge on the front so it doesn't break down on the shoot.

So it saw service in the Australian Army?
Now I'm really impressed. Wish it was in my driveway.

Airless tyres on Army trucks are not such a new thing then ;)

Albion Motor Car Co. later Albion Motors of Scotstoun, Glascow.

The only pommies ( sorry, Jocks, but Scotland is part of the United Kingdom) who ever made a gearbox that worked. The legendary Albion 6 speed.

Ever heard of David Brown?

I wrote "gearbox that worked"

I drove a Thornycroft with a 4 x 3 twin stick David Brown. Enough said.

How old are you?!! That pre-dates my waving hand, :p
The only two stick job I ever had a go at was a quad-box in a Flintstone, just round the block so got bragging rights.
