Went up to Harrys Hut today, ive never driven there befor[last time was by canoe], the road in was terrible but i guess it keeps the numbers down. However once out in the canoe it was all worth it, if any body else with a canoe is interested in making a day of it some time-drop me a line

Nice spot, last time I went there last Dec the road was pretty easy. Must have deteriorated a lot.

I haven't been in there for a few years, but always found the road in fairly ordinary.
Have walked in from Rainbow Beach Road and paddled down Teewah Ck to the Noosa River and down to Harrys. Lovely spot.

G'Day mate.
The Upper Noosa river is my favorite paddle area and Harrys'can be such a peaceful spot for camping, am going to have to make the time.
Last time I went up, you could drive a compact car up there, as some had.
Been too long.
I'm the Blue TD5 D2 from the nicer side of the Highway :wasntme:
When are you going to wave back?!?;)
Fancy going up for a couple of days paddle and go to the upper camps?

Will resume waiving madly.

Must get back there. A year or two ago we put in at Lake Cootharaba, canoed to Fig Tree to camp overnight (awesome place, as you can't even drive to it), then canoed up the next day to Harry's Hut, and walked to the Cooloola Sand Blow, before canoeing back to Fig Tree for camping overnight again, then back to Cootharaba.
Middle of winter, too - one of my most favourite camps/canoes.

:lol2::firedevil: LUVIT!! Permission to further the use of that term? It'll fume a few of the Hoity Toity set!! ROFLMAO with anticipation.
Well gents, this is starting to look like a trip planner. :)
Putting in at Elanda Point near the Rangers means a nice paddle over Cootharabah, but we have to consider vehicle security.
Driving up to Harrys gives the option of a trip down river to Figtree one day, then up to the sand blow the next?
Looking forward to paddling that black glass again.

I'm interested although only have a fishing 'yak so can't carry too much gear. I'm sure my dear wife would be OK to do "Support Vehicle" duty.

G'day Saitch.
Welcome to join.
If you can't fit your gear on a 'yak, you have too much gear! ; ))

i'b be interested in a day or an over nighter at some point.
Can come down from the North with a car shuttle, or just up and back from Harry's.
I have a 14ft canadian so have room for one or happy to solo. Well that is if we go no where near lake cootharaba after 9am. Even have a few light weight tents and stoves if others are short on that stuff for an overnighter.
I drive a puma though, does that rule me out as snooty.....

PS- my canoe is 16 foot and friggin heavy getting on and off the roof on my own, if i had seen i would have waved back
