changing aerial on D1

Hi all,

Have had a look on Rave and I cant seem to find the section on how you go about changing the aerial.I know that you have to remove the panel to access the aerial but I dont know whether the clips just pull out or you have to turn then pull.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Its for a D1.

Do you have a aerial on the front guard or in the rear window?

On my d1 the aerial is on the guard to replace it I had to undo the guard as well as remove the radio:)

Hi Booger,
Mines on the front guard.
I googled it and found a couple of the pommie sites had "how to change aerial" on them.
Think it will be easier if I just take front guard off to change it than try and pry that inner part out to get to it.

I had no trouble removing the inner plastic guard, the only problem I had was that the hole in the guard for the aerial was a lot smaller than any new one I could find, so ended up using a hole saw to make the hole bigger, the rest of the job was very straight forward.

I was lucky with mine a PO had already changed it at some time and put an extension in so my aerial could plug in in the guard I did not need to remove it completely just loosen it. Took less than 30 min:) The extension ran from plug in the radio into the guard about 4 feet long so most of the lead from the aerial was not needed:D

I replaced mine with an electric aerial - wasn't hard - just remove front drivers wheel and go in through the inner guard, no need to remove the outer guard.

You will break the clips that hold the inner guard in place but generic clips from autopro/repco will work even though they are different to the originals.

If its on the rear side window just unplug it from the back of the stereo and plug the new one in and leave the original lead in place.
