View Full Version : Eas block rebuild - flummoxed

Hi guys,

Been a while as I've been without Internet access - very weird to be so disconnected.

Anyway, I have attempted to rebuild the Eas block. 1st attempt replaced all rings; car was going down on nsf and nsr. 2nd attempt removed eas block and found that the upper rubber tips in the metal shaft that sits in the valve had got loose. Stuck them back in shaft, made sure block was ultra clean. Reconnected, did washing-liquid leak test; all good. 2 days later front end is on bump stops.
Am I missing something obvious or is it just messing with.me because it can?

I'm leaning towards the P38 sense of humour on this one... Cruel things they can be at times!

Hi

Fun and games with the valve block

If the fronts are going down I would suspect the Non Return Valves (NRV's)

Check this thread for some helpful suggestions

Good luck

Having just been through this process I'd second the nrv's as likely culprits. It's worthwhile double checking everything though. Those thin o rings on the valve stems are really easy to crimp.

Thanks guys.
Bit of a result in that only nsf goes down. Annoying thing is that the nrv is at the bottom of the block - oh well out it comes again.
When its all airtight hopefully my new usb to serial lead will have turned up so I can reset the EAS...

That should mean you've nail it. Process of elimination. My record was 15 mins for the whip out at the 5th or 6th attempt.

Hi Mate,

If it is only one side, have you replaced the o-rings at the top of the Air Spring. That may be worth a shot
