Sorry can't help you in Tonga, but here the local dealers will help for a fee and if you provide current registration in your name, meaning your the legal owner of the car.

I would recomend asking this be moved to P38 Range Rover area, as the L322 doesn't have an EKA and was 2002 onwards.

I just wish if someone could be able to help, but retrieving the code with VIN#. I would love to know the place where to get it, I don't mind paying a fee, because I have expected it.

Looking forward to anyone help..

That being said, after being in the situation myself of not having an EKA and a car which the BECM says is imobilized, mine ended up with a trip to a specialist with the right computer to get in and unlock it.

You should be able to get it from the main dealer via Vin number.
I am not sure if you can see the code via Testbook, Dealer diagnostics but I am sure someone here will know.

If you are in a real rush you could try ringing this outfit with a credit card handy......

Well I do hope that you phoned and asked them 1st and that you have not lost any cash.
If you have lost money I would suggest you phone them and ask for a refund, any issues threaten them with THE TRADING STANDARDS AGENCY and let them know you will be posting on every Land Rover forum of your experience.
Keep us informed

I am not sure how to take your "THANK YOU WAYNEG" ? Capitals means shouting on web forums so if you have an issue with my suggestion please make it clear

If you are on the Polynesian island Tonga I doubt there is a Land Rover dealer. This would be your best option.
As that company in the UK returned your money they are obviously OK. Why not try calling them explaining the situation they still might help. Remember the big time difference. The website asks for a registration number ( number plate) and vin, as they are UK based their automated system is not going to recognise your number plate. Failing that why not try and find a Land Rover dealer in another big City and see if they will help over the phone

From my understanding the Dealers can get the code via Vin number as long as you prove ownership

Try any dealer in the UK, they might accept an email with copy of rego as proof of ownership. I bought a key like that, sent them a photo of my Oz rego and that was accepted.

G`day BigJ ,

Google " eka code range rover " and find the RangeRovers.net link , headed P38a Security and Alarm System Operation & Diagnosis on RangeRover .

You`ll see there is a heading for EKA .

Have a read and it may give you some ideas .

I just finally get hold of someone in a Dealer and read to them the VIN# they say that no security code in their database. They recommend to go back to LR to redirect to UK for code..
Is there any tools to clear the code without knowing the code? and resett for new code....?

By the way, you've also posted in the wrong Range Rover section. This is the P38A section, not L322. :p

L322 didn't arrive till 02 I thought?

If it is a p38, it might be worth trying 1515 as the code. On the earler gems vehicles that didn't have an eka it was set as 1515 on the becm. A nanocom can read the eka. I wonder if bbsguy could drop in and say if theres any bosch licensed ones in Tonga.

BigJ, The confusion is what car do you have.
There are two models you are referring to L322 is 2002 onwards. P38a is 1995 to 2002. I presume you have a P38a as you say its a 2000 model.
The vin number is on a plate behind the windscreen glass, visible from outside the car.
A Nanocom the other poster refers to is a diagnostics unit. He says it can read the EKA code on a P38a. ( not l322)
The diagnostic units are for sale from here...:: Nanocom :: (http://web.nanocom.it/default_i.cfm)

I would contact them 1st to make sure they can read the EKA code. As you are so remote it would probably be a good idea for you to have one for any issues in the future.

Do we have any confirmation about what model we are talking about here so it can be put where needed if it is in the wrong section?

L322 or P38? If you unsure, post a pic and that will tell us.:)

Cheers - Gav.

You only have the backup key? How do you get in – key in drivers door?

Is this backup key the plastic one?

BigJ
29th August 2013, 07:12 AM

ok, so it is the factory Emergency Key with the rfid chip (not the Wallet key)

so Qs

1. What year is this vehicle? (Whats on the Manufacture plate)

2. What engine does it have?

3. Does the car turn over? does it start? asume yes from above post.

4. Is there any messages on any of the dash displays at any time? and when? (ignition on - engine start - engine stop)

BigJ

Thank you harlie for your prompt reply, I just talk to the guy who start the car, he just said he didn't started with the key, he turn ingnition on leave it position II t, he start it through the front which is longstory when he explain it to me which something bybass the fuel but I don't think it problem fix, because the fuel pump system is cuttoff that why only up to 3min which mean not proper start from the key. This is what happen when trying to normal start with the key when he turn on the key position II, blinking on the dash display CODE and look like 4 digit to be input. When he move from 11 position to start, NO clicking to start.
Here is some info from the plate:
E11,
13-HR-000086
45R-010086
21R-010205
24R.2.03
I have no idea what this no. for but probably is answering Harlie Qs.
Looking forward for somehelp.

Ok, it is wanting the Interlock Code.

I have read about it, not seen it, there is a proceedure in the owners manual - see if I can dig it up.

In the mean time, you need to order a new full key. There are many warnings about using the emergency key for more than a couple of starts - I'm tipping the car has objected to this.

harlie
29th August 2013, 01:39 PM
Yeah, you really need a key.

Interlock code - emergency deactivation
If your code is no longer available to you there isan emergency procedure that will delete the codeand allow the engine to be started.Follow the instructions in your OwnersHandbook and disconnect the earth terminal ofthe vehicle battery. After at least one minute, reconnect the battery. At this point the alarm will sound so be sure tohave the remote handset available to turn it off.The vehicle systems will reset. See your OwnersHandbook regarding system resetting afterbattery disconnection.Turn the starter switch to position bla bla bla

Some say - try 1515 but not sure, this is the default EKA for P38a, guess it can't hurt.
