Spotted Stanwell & Gracemere 2A Ambo

G'day All,

I was in a hire car coming back from Blackwater, Queensland this morning and I spotted a 2A Military Ambulance that was just entering the road near the road works at Stanwell. It was around 8:20 am. The ambulance then stately motored past me when I turned off to the service station at Gracemere near McDonald.

It was a top looking unit and in great condition. It was the highlight of my drive home to see a 2A Ambulance registered and on the road.

That could be one that was owned by a person that was on here a while ago,it may even still have personal plates,OLR-067 if so, it is cheering for me to know that it is still around,know the original owner who bought it from auction all those years ago.

Was it deep bronze green?

There were several privatley owned bloodbox's in n around Rockhampton the last time I was there, also I think the heritage museum has one as well, cheers Dennis:angel:

Thank you for the reply - I did not catch the number plate as I was in a state of shock when I saw a 2A Ambo on the road in such good condition it was a cammo paint scheme.

Just to let you guys know ......... There is a property out Stanwell that has well over 20 rovers on it and I've discovered through a friend I now know the owner and I've been invited out for a look.

Just had a chat to my friend and that ambulance is complete and fully working, including the stretcher.
I'll be getting pics of it as soon as I can go out and take a look
