What 33" muddies do you run?

Have around 40% left on my Cooper STT 33"
Have been quoted by Tempe Tyre $330 per tyre
But also like to hear some other options.

What do you guys use?

Will be 80% use off road and 20% getting there.

Have a look on Gumtree. If your running the 285/75R16 size it's common on some Land Cruisers and Patrols and often there's some local deals to be had.

A thread like this one always opens a can of worms.

I've been running Maxxis Bighorns on mine, almost 65k onthem now and yeah.... they were muddies, they now qualify as AT's.

This my second set (previous D2 had them) and I really can't speak highly enough of them. I've never had a side wall problem, no chipping and they come in almost $100/tyre under the BFG's. From all accounts I don't think the BFG's will last any longer. They MAY be marginally quieter when more that 60% worn, but hey.... just turn up the stereo!

I'll buy Maxxis again without hesitation. btw I run 235/85 16's

Here Here I agree while only in coming up on 10k on these tyres they are worthy and very comparable to any other make or model out there, Adding to that a mate on his 80 series has 60+k on his and still swears by them and he drive very hard off road no sidewall issues or irregular wear.
I got my 235/85's at the right time brand new $100+freight each from flea bay (right place right time)

Will add that Ipom and myself were very impressed with my Old Boy's D2 32inch Deestone Mud Clawer's cleaning ability in heavy mud made the MTZ's and BHorns look bad ;)

I agree with the Maxxis comments. I have some in 315/75 and they are quieter than my smaller Mickey Ts and Kumho KL71s.
Performance wise I find the Kumho tyres pretty good, I have them in 265/75. They clear mud well and grip well in loose dirt. I bought them because they were cheaper than anything else decent at the time and don't regret it.

The Mickey T MTZs I also have in 265/75. I find them slightly better than the Kumhos but noisy on road. I bought them due to finding a bargain on gumtree, I think I paid $80/tyre and they still had the nipples and paint lines. Some guy had upgraded to bigger boots and was selling his two spares. I wouldn't pay retail for them tho.

Have a look on gumtree, if you're patient and have a few options you'd be happy with brand wise you could save a lot of $s.

MTRs on one car and Bighorns on the other. I would class Neither as mud tyres, but they are both good allrounders offroad.

The MTRs are more expensive, but IME they have lasted a lot longer.

The Bighorns have travelled east-west (coast-coast) 4 times and done the CSR, Gibb, etc without a problem.
