Hi all,
Before I put the OL bar and snorkel on my RRS just after some feedback (first hand only please!) on quality, any issues you have/had and anything else you can say.
You can PM if you want.
Thanks

Brent - go to the South Sydney store - they fit plenty of gear on Land Rovers and will get it right. I'm happy with the bar they installed.

Yep no issues to speak of, a couple of the indicator lights have been replaced, no fuss, Gordon (Opposite Lock Southern in Kogarah) he just replaced them with no drama, great guy to deal with.
Daughter Amarok was also fitted with the OL bar by Gordon, again no issues.

Absolutely go to OL West Botany Street Rockdale, Gordon is a Landy enthusiast himself and very helpful.
He fitted the bar to my D4, fitted a winch from an alternate supplier and even changed the lights when I wanted a different style (supplied by me).

I was quoted $2100 for a RRS bar and $330 for colour coding - how does that compare with quotes people have been given.

Does that include fitting?

I assume so. If not it is an expensive bar.

About 1600 with fog lights supply only.
I'll put it on myself.
Just worried its going to ruin look of the RRS to much...
Shallow I know! Lol

Likewise the ones I have seen on a RRS seem to have the gaps all wrong due to the curve section at the front of the guards. It looks as if OL have used a standard D3 bar and modified it as needed to fit the RRS but not around the guard area.

You could always grab a can of Selleys Space Invader, and finish it off with a can of spray paint that is close to your car colour lol.

Hi Brent,
I had ARB fit my bar/snorkell on my old D3 but OL fitted the winch (after I decided to fit one) and Dual batt set up also. Very neat job with attention to detail. Went with the arb bar cos it looked a little neater but not much in it.

We are talking bars for a RRS and ARB do not make one that is certified.

Nah, I'd just leave it with primer, no need to top coat it!

While I'm happy with the OL bar, I'm very dissapointed with the people who installed it and my Kaymar rear bar and long range tank. These guys are butchers and although I'm meeting with the owner today I doubt from my previous conversations I will get any resolution.
If you want to know which Opposite Lock dealer to avoid in Sydney PM me and I will give you my story.

I had a winch bar put on my V6 petrol. Happy with the job and quality. Only issue I've had is the connector for the LED indicator on the bar is not real flash and the contacts can work loose. I believe they now use a different connector. Must get around to replacing that one day...

Good news... The installer has agreed to supply new front flares and inner guards. Now I'm much happier.
I just have to fix the fuel leak, lower the front bar so the winch clears the body work, replace the missing screws/clips and redo the rear bar wiring now.

I do like the look of their front bars!
I wonder if they would do an X-Rox bar for a Disco 3, or would that just look ridiculous?

I don't think the shape of the front of the D3 would lend itself well to an Xrox type bar. You'd have to relocate a lot of parts, like the front air suspension valve, and the washer bottle. It's really quite cluttered behind that front bumper, take it from me!

Damn.
Any extreme looking bars built to fit the D3?
