Hi Folks,
first thread to AULRO as decided to sign up after getting heaps of info over the months! Chasing any info on a rear ladder, i have a 2013 D4 after 3 1/2 years of owning a 2009 D3 (pic as avatar) with all the mods but never bothered with t he rear ladder. Thinking i will with this one but having rear wheel holder fitted on RHS so the UK ladder (no drilling) wont work. Do's anyone have any experience with the factory ladder? or can recommend another? any info would be a help as no joy on ebay etc. Went bush for the first time last W/E (car only a week old) and the E-Diff worked well. Didn't have one on the old car and noticed the difference climbing out over a muddy creek bank with the same spec tyres as the D3 (Dueller LT's) so if anyone was wondering they do actually make a difference! See you on the trails!

Welcome to the Forum :-)
So the rear wheel carrier is to be fitted on the RHS (Drivers Side) which is where it normally goes.
The UK ladder goes on the LHS (Passenger Side) so I really don't see the issue unless I have missed something?
This is where mine is & I have no issues!
Cheers

Hi Pete,
Thanks for the reply, the non factory ladder i found from the UK attaches on the drivers side without any need for pulling apart the rear handle or drilling any holes and looks smart and is 1/4 the price of the OE ladder but the spare will dis that. Being new to the forum and not totally famil yet with the layout, did you have a pic of the back of your disco that can be viewed? couldn't find how to open your page if you did.
cheers Cam

Hey. I just put on the factory ladder at the weekend. Despite the cryptic instructions c/of landrover (eg tools needed shows a pot rivet tool, when you need a drill; need to drill out some plastic to allow the door handle to sit properly around the newly inserted bold heads, which is not in the instructions), only took about 2 hours and is impressively robust. Recommend buying from Uk as was a fraction of the cost. Dolium also do one which is also a far more reasonable $.

Hi captcam68,
have a look at the tread i just started on fitting a front runner rear ladder without having to drill holes, that was on a D3, but fits the D4 the same.
Cheers

I too have fitted the factory ladder purchased over the 'net' from the UK which is certainly cheaper than buying one locally!
Mind you I did get slugged a freight 'excess' this time around:(
Confirm the freight cost first!!!!!!
