Just finished a trip out west and visited places like Longreach, Winton, Jundah, Windorah, Quilpie, Charleville, Mitchell, Roma, Injune and then back up to Emerald and home from there. Most of the country is in drought and large mobs of cattle are being driven (drovers) or trucked south and east. Roos are very plentiful everywhere and at 1 section of road between Longreach and Winton I counted 45 skittled in a 1 kilometre section. Absolute carnage, most of them were reds/blues and wallaroos. I know the ringers get pretty thirsty but I wasn't aware how much until I saw this!
I have included a few extra pics for those interested, one of Lark Quarry where the dinosaur stampede footprints are and a few from the Transport heritage museum at Winton. I took heaps of photos of old trucks/machinery there, too many to post up but if anyone wants to see more I could email them to you, heaps of old trucks, rare old dozers like Fowler marshall, Olivers etc and old graders including some horse drawn ones.
