Hello guys,

I must say i am very pleased to come accross a forum like this dedicated to rovers.

I have been doing research on you tube and on this forum.

Found this on Youtube

How to remove dash centre panel on Land Rover Discovery 3/ LR3 - YouTube

The above video shows the same base car stereo as mine, however i read in this forum here http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-rrs/161403-upgrading-te-base-stereo-2.html

that some Discovery 3 models have fibre optic throughout and this may cause trouble if I were to install it myself.

Is the above radio model in the video link the base model ( which i have) without fibre optic.??

If so i have the following parts to do the install for the
Sony xav-601 car stero
Double din facial
Steering control harness + patch lead
Antenna adapter lead

Will i require any parts/leads to make this work and are all my parts sufficient to make the steering controls work?

I thought i would ask first before i attempt the install on Friday day.

Thanks for your help any links or install info is much appreciated.

Cheers

Hi - check out post # 7 in that link you pasted. You'll need the steering wheel controls (ordered from UK is cheapest) and the steering wheel interface.

Oh - and yes, that is the base stereo (model CD-400) which has single CD slot and no fibre optics. You don't say what model D3 you have... if it is MY07 or later, you will lose the time display on the dash display.
