Saw it this morning on the ABC News Channel, I liked the guy they interviewed who drove the land rover with no brakes for his boat. I had to show SWMBO the hand brake he used on it.

Top marks for ingenuity. I imagine the alloy body is good if you live that close to the ocean. The chassis etc might be another matter. I lived for a year in the Pillaga Scrub and none of the logging trucks had working brakes. They just drove accordingly. Cheers, 130man.

That headlight conversion is brilliant. Just imagine what they could do with HID or LED. :o

I sold my nice old ex army S2a to Nauru, must have been about 1999. Looking at those I'm actually glad I didn't see mine.:(

While driving cabs in Melbourne in the 70's I took a crew member to his ship in South Wharf and sitting next to the ship was about 120- 150 various Land Rovers ( & I recall seeing a Game !) One had crapped it's gearbox with oil everywhere. I asked the crewmember what was the go and he said they were going to Nauru.. Reason being that they rust the least of the lot !!. When I asked why so many, he said the locals get drunk & drive them into the sea !!:o
Turns out that Four Wheel Drives in Melb had been buying up pretty much everything for some months beforehand, with supply of spares as part of the deal...Pity to see so many gone for good..

Awesome........why would you need brakes when towing a boat :D the mans a legend

Hilarious!

I sold a series firewall to a guy from Nauru once... I think he was buying and galvanising all the steel parts for a landy to take back and repair his...

Just goes to show what you can live with if you have to doesn't it.....

Not that I'm an advocate for no brakes, but at least they don't have the stupidly rediculous rubbish red tape mods laws that we have.:D

Those headlights were a gem:D:D:D

Love it!!!:D

Love it!!!:D

wow a game, that looks great. would be an interesting place to be for land rovers. that guy looks like he definitely knows what he is doing.
Thanks heaps for the link Andrew was a good watch.
Cheers Tony

I love the modified lights from round to square, unfortunately according to the bloke being interviewed the idea is under copyright so I'll just have to learn to live with round headlights!

There have been a few comments posted about this
