This could be the answer to people like me with 18 or 19 inch wheels.
There is a late model Freelander 2 near me sporting 16 inch wheels and 245/70/r16 tyres looks great.
The owner gave me the details, Wheels are Velocity Wheels model number VW-441, had them milled to suit the car.
Bought them from here Products (http://www.carlinkauto.com.au/products.asp?index=++Velocity+Wheels)
Less than $200.00 per wheel.
My Freelander is only 6 months old but will definatly get wheels like this when the warrenty runs out.
If anyone buys a set let me know how you went.

Check with your insurance company, though. Going through the same hoops trying to find something that is 235 wide but has something other than road-tread in 19", insurance agent advises any size is OK (when asked about 255/50 or 55/19R tyres for the FL2) provided they fall within "manufacturer's (LR's) specs". 16" wheels won't, only 17, 18 & 19 are available ex-LR for the Freelander2.

At the moment I can't get an answer on 255/55/19 tyres from LR, hopefully will in a week or two.

You can get 16's in a diesel in some countries like the UK. Petrol i6 needs 17's for the brake calipers and they don't sell the petrol version anymore over there.

It varies by state but in NSW you can't increase overall diameter of the wheel and tyre by more than 15mm of the largest listed size on the car tyre placard according to NSW RTA regs. For a 235/65/17 it would mean a 245/65/17 is the largest legal size in NSW. That would equate to a 245/60/18 or a 245/55/19 or there abouts. Good luck getting any sort of off road tyre for the 18's or 19's, there are few if any available in those sizes.
