I keep killing and finding these spiders in my worm farm. They have a big bum like a redback, they are usually a black bum with white spots .
When touched with a twig they play dead and don't move so easy to squish. The eggs are laid in a ball and the web is like a redback.
I did find a true redback many years ago, but it had a definite RED stripe.
I can't seem to find what these are, they are no where else to be found, under any debris just in compost bin lids and the worm farm lid.

Mate not all redbacks have red! If the web is starchy/crinkley to touch that's them. Are they affecting the worms?

no didn't have time today to past tense them:D

Some timers the egg sac is pink.
The true red back I found one was very big, unless these are males and are smaller.

Pest guy once told me that immature ones had white on the back, and they turned red when they matured. Not sure if that true or not.

Just as an aside what is the biggest one someone has seen? I found one a little bigger than my thumbnail in my electrical box of a house I once owned. Before the days I could afford a digital camera.

Have a look under the identidication section:

Area must be infested with them, as I kill and then find them back again.
time to breed up Dandelonglegs they are supposed to eat them.

Or should I just leave them to grow, and then turn them into Gear shift Knobs and sell them?
A bit different to the run of the mill ones, I could do diff lock ones :p
