While visiting Nelson Bay today to watch my grandson play in his football grandfinal I happened across this Monitor lizard in a tree above the carpark.

He/she would have to be over a metre long and I tell you what, the Magpie in this photo was not happy about the Monitor's presence. The Magpie was making a terrible racket.:D

I walked right around the tree, trying to get a better angle, I wanted a photo of the Monitor with it's head up, but no go.:D

I had to get back to the game which ended in a penalty shootout, so my grandson's team are Minor Premiers and Grandchampions. Soooo, I had better show an action shot of him playing. That's him on the left.:D

It was a game that seesawed back and forth and we had our fingernails bitten down to the quick!!:D

Every year a Tawny Frogmouth nests in the trees behind our place, this year she is again nesting in the trees complete with young one tucked under her wing, she is watching me too!!:D:D

Nice shots mate,

The Maggy was probably cracking it because the monitor was on the hunt for some eggs. Did you see a nest in the tree anywhere?

Cheers,

Danial.

No, I couldn't see the Magpies nest, I did look for it though.:D It must have been close because the maggie was really kicking up a storm.:o
