Cant wait

On telly I often see this being said.
Somebody is asked a question about an upcoming event and they excitedly say "I cant wait ". ?.
So what happens next, there is usually no follow up the next day or so, so what happened in the meantime ?
At times like that I say to myself, I will just have to be patient.
Cant wait to read what others think and how they cope and if they new someone that couldn"t wait.

Well you can't ever 'not' wait unless you have access to it right away.
Waiting can be excruciating, depressing, and genuinely terrible.
It can also be fantastic, gives you a chance to 'cool off' so to speak, as well as time to think about whatever it is you haven't got yet.
Depends on what you're waiting for I guess.
