Hello

I am new in this forum and would like to introduce my self before I post a question.
My name is Andreas and I moved over last year from Germany to Montreal.
I drive a Defender 1990 ex Mot 110 which was modified in UK special for Canada.
It has a 200 TDI and shall get now an Mazda 3.5 SLTI for more power. this engine has an Hitachi Turbo and needs to be overhauled as well or better replaced with a new one like an VNT. In UK we couldn't find detailed infos about that. Therefore my question here if anybody has experience with upgrading that Turbo on the Mazda engine.

Gruss
Andreas

Not specifically your Mazda. But I've done plenty of work on the Isuzu 4BD1T turbocharger selection and it's not that much bigger.
Have a read through here: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/isuzu-landy-enthusiasts-section/169564-4bd1t-turbo-sizing-performance-prediction.html

The best VNT turbo for your engine is a Garrett GT2256V. These can produce enough air for well over 200hp and enough boost for well over 600Nm if your engine can hold together.

For wastegated turbos a MHI-TD04HL-19T will do everything you ever need, a GT2259 is the closest wastegated garrett.
