Dyno tests show power boost with CEM products

For a bit over a year now, one of our dealer customers has been using CEM products to value add to their customers vehicle servicing, boosting word of mouth business in the process.

Tristan Wilson from Knight's Toyota (Leongatha, VIC) advise they have never failed to measure a power gain on the dynometer with CEM’s Flushing Oil Concentrate, CRD Fuel Enhancer and AW10 Antiwear. Tristan sent this report today...

“I have attached a dyno sheet for a stock standard, manual 2008 Hilux common rail diesel we did recently. This dyno run was done after the vehicle had already done a run to Cape York with your CRD Fuel Enhancer.

"Before it had left for Cape York all injector feedback values were off the scale, all reading –5 to +5 (these should be around –1 to +1 to be in spec), it was rattling, shaking and knocking a lot. We sent the customer on his way with CRD Fuel Enhancer, trusting it to make the trip without damage.

"Once the vehicle returned, the feedback values on all injectors were around –0.5 to +0.8 (a perfect score). The customer couldn't believe the results!

"While here for the service, we put the vehicle on the dyno both before, and after using your Flushing Oil Concentrate and AW10 Antiwear. You can see the broad increase in torque and power right through the rev range, this vehicle was still using your CRD Fuel Enhancer at the time it was on the dyno.

"From experience, brand new Hilux's we have put on the dyno are only making 70 to 85 KW at the rear wheels. So, the results of your products on a car that has done 160,000km are absolutely outstanding (105.4 KW at the rear wheels! We have never seen a stock Hilux make this much power!). I look forward to using your products on more vehicles in the future, and keeping you updated with dyno results to prove your products.”

The purpose of this dyno run (and previous ones conducted by Knight's Toyota) is purely for their customer's benefit...commercial purposes only & not meant to represent a laboratory study.

The benefit measured is 8%, so it's nothing of the order to be expected by turbocharging an engine, and less than most performance chips. Never-the-less, it's enough of a benefit for customers to actually notice the improvement.

Dyno runs were performed on the same day (6Aug2013) with 1hr and 5min between baseline and treated run. Baseline was done before servicing the engine (9:07hrs). The vehicle crankcase was then flushed with Flushing Oil Concentrate, followed by a fresh charge of oil with AW10 Antiwear at 2%. Run 2, I assume would have been to bring the engine back up to operating temperature. Run 3 was the treated test run (10:12hrs).

Knight's report that their customers are delighted with the livelier performance of their vehicles, and that, combined with the dyno reports presented to them, assists them generate new business.

Regarding the CRD Fuel Enhancer, it is ashless. The chemistry is totally unrelated to FTC Decarbonizer, which is a metallic based catalyst.

Thanks for copying me the paper relevant to Cummins CDR engines. I had a quick look & will look forward to a more detailed read later on. The metal component in fuel treated with FTC Decarbonizer is 0.056ppm (well under the Cummins 0.1ppm recommendation), so does not put diesel out of spec.
