Fuel Injector upgrade

I am trying to improve my fuel economy in the P38 with a 4.6 Gems engine and have read that you can fit different fuel injectors which supposedly increase fuel economy. The article mentioned people in Australia having great success fitting different units with four holes as opposed to the original units having only one hole. Can someone please help with this issue are there injectors to suit and where do i get them.
The injectors referenced were all Bosh Gen III

This is the reference but it is American and not sure it is suitable for my engine.:)

You can use Bosch gen11 Yellow 19Lb which have the slot for the top clip or Bosch gen111 which have the same function and 4 holes but are physically smaller and do not have the slot for the top clip.

In my case with a 14CUX rail, I added another oring above the one at the bottom to ensure the top of the injector did not pop out of the rail.

BTW the gen111s will give more stable idle , but unless your old Lucas are dribbling I doubt whether you will see much better economy. If the car has done lots of Ks you may see better economy, but usually by that stage there are lots of other wear areas eg cam, lifters.

Hi,

I must agree with Philip on this one, if your motor has high KM's on it, replacing the injectors is unlikely to have much effect sadly.

About all you can do is ensure that you have;
good plugs, properly gapped
good air filter
clean MAF
clean PCV system

You can also use a generic OBD reader and software to check for engine fault codes
