Hi

I have just passed the 6 month mark in P38 land and am loving it :BigThumb:

I have been tracking my progress on a webpage here

Service Programme (http://p38.hts.com.au/service_programme.html)

Basically i changed every fluid in the car and have fixed a number of other issues, a brake overhaul and new front discs are next.

I estimate about 100 hours have been spent on it so far, plus the time online researching stuff etc and of course around 2K on parts and 1K on tools

I am almost to the point of getting to my list of enhancements

Steve's P38A Range Rover Project (http://p38.hts.com.au/rangie_project.html)

What a fantastic bunch of people the Land Rover / P38 community are, thanks to everyone for all the help and inspiration :D

Steve

I've never heard of the 303 Aerospace Protectant or Einszett Gummi-Pflege before, do they work ok?
I've been trying a few things on my grille and other parts to try and keep them looking good, but nothing seems to last very long.
Rain seems to be the biggest killer of trim restorers, I'd love to find something that lasts a bit longer.

Mother's "Naturally Black" is what I use on exterior trims (bumpers/mirrors etc). I found that two coats rubbed in with love will last 6months.

Cheers

Hi Peter,

I researched them on the net and a lot of the show car guys raved about them.

I kinda think rubber needs different treatment to vinyl and plastic, so i went for the German stuff and it seems to work well.

The 303 I think would probably be better from new, though it does do a very good job. Unlike the Mothers it is not coloured, so I can use it on my grille.

My plenum cover I did a few months ago still looks pretty good, but it has faded a little, the door handles i have done a couple of times and they look pretty good.
