hi guys this new series1 v8 disco purchase is killing me 2 more little problems I have found
1 : central locking rh rear door locks but wont unlock locking mechenisim comes up but then goes back down slightly stopping it from unlocking and the lh front door locks but wont unlock.
2:has any one got pics of cruise control vacume hoses and what goes where all have been pulled of and missing on this beast any help is appreciated wayne:)

1. There's little springs in the lock mechanism to hold the tab up, which holds the lock in the unlocked position, they break. So google "discovery door spring" and you should find some tutorials on repairing it. As to the one that locks but won't unlock, probably a lazy actuator or the mechanism is all jammed up.

I starting having similar problems with my central locking and purchased the springs assuming they would need replacing, but since I've sprayed silicone lube on the lock mechanism inside the door and now they work fine. We do a lot of driving on dusty roads and 4wd tracks, so they were obviously full of dust.

On the back doors, if you spray some lube through the slot where the child lock switch is you can hit the lock mechanism. Spray lube in all directions through that slot while moving the lock up and down, then see if it works. That fixed mine.
