I found out about this the other day...

The Hawke's Bay (NZ) 150th Agricultural and Pastoral Society show + Land Rover 65yr showcase to be held on October 23-25.

Included will be a purpose-built extreme 4WD course and display of pre-1960s Series One Land Rovers, to celebrate 65 years of Land Rover.
The NZ Series One Land Rover Club will manage the display during the show with the aim of bringing together 65 vehicles.
Hillseekers 4WD's Mark Warren is designing and managing the 4WD course, and said he had received a "fantastic response", with some vehicles coming from as far away as Whitianga. "As far as we know, there has been no other display like this [of Series One Land Rovers], so it's going to look fantastic. There are a lot of these wonderful machines in sheds and garages, all in differing states of use or repair," he said.
Owners will have the opportunity to show off their vehicles to the public, and also have a spin around the purpose-built 4WD course during the show.

I know there are Kiwi's on this board that still live here :D so who here is going to this? Is it worth organising a meeting of an AULRO NZ Chapter? Any Aussies coming this way around then that may like to call by?

I'm looking at heading up there but not sure what days. Camera will be charged up, and the old 110 will be rearing to have a crack at the course... :D

Just going to bump this up the list periodically to see if any NZ-based Aulro's are going to this one.

The show is Wednesday to Friday which is unusual but Friday is Hawkes Bay Anniversary day so is a long weekend there. A bit of a shame for those out of the district that it is not on over the weekend.

About time this was bumped back to the top of the pile. Happening this week... anyone going? I have just placed the camera battery on charge and we head up there in the old 110 this wednesday. A few days of fly fishing, cycling the river tracks and trails and looking at old Series one's.
