Who else took a look at the Land Rover expo?

Very lux, but it reminds me a bit of going to a school reunion and seeing someone who put on 50kg since you last saw them, you can just make out the person you once knew but looks like they swallowed a goat. And not much legroom in the second row.

Interestingly the main reason I bought a Disco instead of a RRS was that I wanted the 7 seats. Now it has them but I wouldn't buy one.

Had a look at it, and my first thought was that there is no way it should be called a seven seater. When the D3 came out it was hailed for the packaging and amount of passenger room it had because of its hydro pressed chassis (correct me if I'm wrong) but the third row has a minuscule amount of room. Nice looking though, not like the new FFRR. I always wanted one until I saw the new one in the flesh - horrible.

The advertising hype goes to great pain to explain that its not a 7 seater....it's a 5+2.
They don't want prospective customers to think its a people mover.

I agree,

I had a little look at the expo and it seems to have lost the distinctive look of the now superseded sport.

It definitely looks much bigger and less sporty than the old one.

Still it is very pretty and I agree the back 2 seat would only be good for small children with no legs !!!

Regards,

George.

Here in South Africa, the new RRS will be strictly 5-seater, with a full spare wheel instead of the kiddie seats. :D

Those low profile tyres and the outback....how does this pan out in practice?

Finally, as RRS now run on a RR platform, will its sub-forum be moved away from Disco forum?

That has been discussed.:D Don't think it will happen any time soon though.

It is a bit bigger as it is based on the full fat chassis, it is a LOT lighter than the old one and a LOT sportier. Active suspension keeps it nearly flat in the corners, even at silly speeds, and the engine is a powerhouse compared to anything they have previously offered. It finally is a Range Rover and it finally is Sporty. Took them a while but they got there.:)

Watch Top Gears report on it - it is quite something on the track.

Yeah, but the Evoque is a bastard child and know one knows where to put it...:D

I think the new RRS will stay in the D3/D4/RRS forum so it has some continuity.

Well I want the 101 in the RR section - it is closest to a RRC than anything else.

Just as logical :o
