I did all the usual Landy nut awaiting a new car stuff almost a year ago. I got the name of the ship; tracked the ship to my home port of Fremantle; I went down to the docks to see my car; and photgraphed every white D4 with black leather I could see.
Where I like to think I took the weirdness to a new level is, I never stopped watching the docks to see what Landies have arrived. I also never stopped tracking the Asian Emperor around the world. (one thing I learnt is many ships are like taxis going where the fare is, not buses on regular routes, but I digress)
So I while driving past the docks I saw a car carrier berthed and naturally scanned what cars were unloaded and I saw an interesting sight.
No it wasn't a big mob of 2014 Rangie Sports, it wasnt even any Landrovers at all. It was dozens of cream coloured "London Taxis"
London cabs trial for the streets of Perth (http://www.watoday.com.au/wa-news/london-cabs-trial-for-the-streets-of-perth-20130822-2sduq.html).
It will be interesting to ride in one during the Christmas party season and ask the driver how it's going.
