Both my free hearing aids stopped working on Monday. Nothing to do with batteries or such. I took them back to Clarity this morning to have them repaired. Hopefully by Friday but I wont hold my breath.
Deaf as a post again. Dont like it.
Surprising how you get on and take things for granted while it's all going ok.
Fortunately I have a good supply of unread books to keep me occupied.
Drat and bother.

I hate the bloody things, I'm only deaf in a few frequencies and they bring in all the noise and hash I don't want to bloody hear and the experts wont adjust them to suit what I can/cant hear...they set them up with a spectrum analyser from your ears and wont see it any other way.....so....I don't wear them....

I am the same, I have "industrial deafness" and I cannot use the hearing aids.
Wife complain that I have "selective hearing" :D

Sort of like Industrial deafness, but filters out Wife's frequencies more than others...:p

Nuh, hard to operate without me hears.
Cant hear what they say on the news. The subtitled programs are ok.
Cant hear when the washing machine or the microwave are finished. I dont answer the phone unless I recognise the number and if I need to make a rare call myself I cant hear what is said
Worst of all I cant hear when our Postie blows her horn to let me know that she has an online parcel or new book for me.
Hate it when I have to make an expensive trip to town the next day to pick it up.
The hearing aids are not the best and dont reduce background noise and so on and a lot of the time I dont understand what people have said, not that it matters because they are usually people encounted at the shops etc.
I dont socialise or need to carry on a conversation so I dont mind.
Different with the peace and quite of home where I can hear what is going on. It's quite when I stop to hear what I said to myself and can hear the birds outside and in Me Disco I can hear and feel the V8.
Cheers.
PS: Being a solitary person and unaquainted for so long I have become a bore when in company, so being unable to hear what I have to say these last few days shouldn't be complained about, eh.

Isn't that called Domestic Deafness? I get it whenever I'm around screaming children. :D
My FIL is totally deaf in one ear and only has 20% in the other. He says he gains in some ways by not hearing a lot of the carp that's going on in the world.
The internet is a great thing for him. It enables communication without hearing.
