New turbo... but wheres my boost gone?!

Put a new aftermarket turbo on my 300tdi, the old one had bent fans and loose bearings.

The new one doesn't boost up any where near as quickly (ie comes on much higher revs) so I have to drive harder to get any speed...

Ive checked the hose clamps etc, is it just the turbo or was the factory one a bit poked and coming on earlier... Seems like a loss of power overall...

I haven't put a boost gauge in yet... will order one tonight and check my pressure

Same model turbo? New wastegate actuator or old?

same turbo, new actuator

the actuator may be set wrong and opening too early or you the boost compensator line is not on or damaged.
