Hi all,

I have just purchased an ex-miltary perentie and am about to but tools for working on it.

I realise that the engine will be metric ( being an Isuzu ) but am less confident when it comes to the body and chassis etc.

Given they were built in Australia does that meran they are also metric or are they ( due to being Landrovers something else - SAE or whatever ).

Any asssitance greatly appreciated as I have quite a bit of work to do on it :question:

95% metric.

the stuff thats not you can contend with with 1/4 3/8th drive stuff most of the time.

I exclusively used a king crome 3/8th-1/4 inch drive set and very rarely had routine stuff I couldnt do with it (obviously I couldnt get the wheel nuts off or undo harmonic balancer bolt or Alternator bolt as it didnt go that large)

I lent the kit to someone doing a cape trip that wasnt appropriately tooled (Ive since replaced it with a custom snap on kit that does 90% of the work on everything from series to disco 2)

if you can afford it Kincrome - Product Display (http://kincrome.com.au/product/K2166/166pce-14~38~12-tool-case-%28mp%29) (or something like it)

would be a wise starting point if you have no workshop tools.

the kit that I had was very similar to
Kincrome 13530P Socket Set 39 Piece AF & Metric 1/4" & 3/8" Square Drive (http://www.toolhq.com.au/p-871-kincrome-13530p-socket-set-39-piece-af-metric-14-38-square-drive.aspx)

that one but I had a swivel and a couple of extra extensions.

Buy additional extensions, get the wobble drive ones.
