Looking for some advice.. The warranty expires at the end of October and I wanted to get the car checked over prior to.
Is there anything specific I should be asking to be checked or is this a comprehensive procedure performed by dealers without "prompting".
Cheers

Umm... I'd be taking it to a landy specialist independent for such an inspection.
Not a dealer. Why would they want to find faults they have to fix under warranty?!
Independent writes a comprehensive list, then take to dealer and ask them to fix all issues identified covered under warranty.

Melbourne Landrover contacted me as I was approaching end of warranty.
They ended up changing front end parts that I did not know where faulty.
Ended up being useful as I sold the D3 soon after and the new purchaser (from Aulro) contacted MLR to enquire about service history etc.

I know that good landie specialists "seem" to know the land rovers better, but the dealers are usually keen to do warranty work as I have been told by southerns over here they get paid well for warranty work....so more work they get the better they will be paid.
But having it checked over by an indie is probably a good idea....extra eyes can't hurt.

I recently bought a D4 and had it checked by a Sydney based pre inspection company (I can't remember the company's name but could dig it out if anyone was interested). I was slightly nervous too as the warranty runs out in late October.
It turned out the car was generally sound (which after 2months of ownership I can happily now confirm) though it did show that the bar ends on the steering rack were worn and there was play in them (also linked to slight uneven tyre wear no doubt). At the drop of a hat LR dealer in stleonards took it in and replaced them under warranty (which the seller all organised for me- nice touch!)

My D4 warranty runs out in December. Brighton LR just did 84000k service and are going to replace lower wishbone bushes and antirollbar bushes under warranty no problem. Also fixing damper on glovebox. I did mention these possible problems to them though.

WTF ?
It is warranty work, we get paid to do it, why wouldn't we want to do it??????
Sometimes I just don't understand.
By the way we offer a free EOW check over. Not sure of other dealers....
