These look great - perfect place for stickers! Yemate

Do they lock from the inside or out?

They are a brilliant idea I reckon. The only downside - can't fit 'em to a 130 ute ! :lol2:

wish I could afford a set of these for the 90, would make life so much easier!

They are indeed very handy and convenient.

The only thing I don't like about them is you don't know which way to insert the key when they are in the locked position. I have marked mine.

Also - spray some WD40 / RP7 into the lock. Mine have already left rust stains on the inside of the latch cavity.

I second that, good call isuzurover. I haven't had rust but mine did start to feel like they were corroding a touch on the insides - the key 'biting' and not sliding in smoothly. Make it a fairly regular squirt and you'll be fine.

WD40 and RP7 will only attract and retain dust/ You'd be better off using powdered graphite in the lock barrel itself to deal with the 'ease of key sliding issue'.
The WD40 or RP7 might be OK for the working parts of the locking mechanism.

They do not attract dust. Dust seposition is governed by the laws of physics, which wd40/rp7 do not change.

Btw - the lock has that little slidey part /door to seal it off when there is no key inside - so dust cannot get in.

Graphite will not help with corrosion.

OK how about 'trap' dirt as oppsed to attract it. (Of course it doesn't attract it, you know what I meant surely)

I didn't think the issue with the key was corrosion but just how sticky it was to move in and out. Thus my comment of using graphite rather than WD40 to solve THAT PARTICULAR problem.

Don't worry about cost, just make it happen. Seriously, they are that good - absolutely transformed the usability of my 110. As far as I'm concerned they rank alongside a bullbar, a UHF and MTs in terms of importance.

PS I've been using graphite in my locks to great effect.

Cheers for the tip about locks I did notice they are hard to get the key in and out thought it might free up with use but will give it a squirt now. And you should definitely get some they are awsome:D

Question - can you lock them partly open whilst driving? And if so, do you reckon it would create that drumming sound you often get in smaller cars?
cheers Gerald

Nope, not without mods.

Just noticed today that Frontrunner do an all glass Gullwing Door.

FRONT RUNNER GULLWING DOOR - GLASS / LAND ROVER DEFENDER (http://www.frontrunner.co.za/front-runner-gullwing-door-glass-land-rover-defender.html)

I wonder how much they are in ZAR? Can anyone is South Africa let us know what the local price is? - please.

I'd definitely go for the glass ones, but at that price I wouldn't buy one. At half the price, I'd buy two.
