Hey all,
Just wondering if the Stage 1 and series 3 109 use the same chassis?
Cheers,

Yes and no.
The side rails, rear cross-member and outriggers are the same. However on the Stage 1 the front crossmember is further forward, the gearbox is supported off the side rails (no gearbox crossmember) and they use a different steering relay.

Ahh OK.
I'm looking at a stage 1 wondered how much stuff was interchangeable from the 109.
I had hoped to swap my 109 parabolics into it, the rear tub, fuel tank etc, for example.

You can swap the parabolics, rear tub and fuel tank. The spring mounts rear crossmember and outriggers are the same as a 109 SIII.
However the stage 1 don't usually have the front bracket for the underseat fuel tank.

stage 1 and 109 chassis are very similar suspension mounts are same, but some stage 1's have HCPU suspension(much stiffer) tank positioning is the same BUT front tanks will not fit unless you change front seat box as stage 1's have battery under drivers seat and a storage spot under passenger,
steering relays are different as the 109 has it thru the front cross member and the stage 1 is the same as the county/defender with the steering relay bolted to chassis rail, and the obvious motor and gearbox mounts are different (range rover drive train)
diff ratios are different and the stage 1 has cv's inside the front where as series have uni's
that is off top of my head if I think of others I will post em up
