OK so I have my (not so shiny) new phone.:D
Serveral things are immediately evident.
With a ****y 8Gb of memory I'll be getting a micro-SD card (already ordered).
It's much easier to drag and drop stuff as oppsoed to that STUPID damn iphone thingy I had.
It's not as intuitive to use as the iphone BUT it is MUCH more customisable. Like anything I guess - just have to get used to it. Might have to buy one of those instructional magazines you see at newsagents from time to time.
So, as a first time Android user, my questions are:
Which apps that come with the S4 are diabolical and ought to be avoided at all costs?
Where is the best place to get Android apps from? (Whatis the equivalent of the Apple itunes store for example?)
What APPS are worth getting / recommended / useful / fun / free ?

Get up 'Google' on your browser and then hit the 'Play' tab on the top menu bar and your into the 'Google Store'.
Buy Google gift cards from Woolies and use them to purchase what you want without needing to give anybody your credit card number.

Alternatively, there is the Fdroid market. Never used it myself though.

Ta muchly.
I like the idea of those gift card thingies. Do you just register hem and it adds the face value to your google account or something?
I just bought myself a Samsung Galaxy S4 "how to do everything" magazine which covers a lot of stuff including apps etc so hopefully that will keep me going !
Cheers

Yeah, just activate them and then the gift amount is credited to your Google account. Got two years to use the credit I think.

Play store should already be in the apps directory along with the samsung apps app. There are heaps off free apps so no need to pay for any unless that is the only choice for a particular app.

What browser are people using?
Obviously there's whatever the standard one is, also Google Chrome. I;ve heard Opera recommended as well.
Also: How do I disable email notifications? Sick of getting a noiseevery time an email arrived. Want SMS etc notifications to stay on !
