Hey everyone ,
I was trying to lower the RRS to access height today and she wouldn't go down (story of my life ). Kept raising to :censored:"extended mode"!
After a quick look underneath it turns out the rubber boot surrounding the rear shock was all chewed up. I removed the rubber boot and all was good.
My question is, how essential is this cover? Given I don't really do much dirt road driving is it an urgent replacement ? Due for a service in the next 1000k's or so. Any idea on cost? Looks like it's probably a shock-off job?

A possible way to fix this problem is a surprise dinner out with a good wine sounds quite safe with out the rubber;)

And if you have the rubber it seems to fit better at off road height:D:p

The cover is there to protect the air bag from debris getting between it and the shock. They are not there on the fronts although you can buy them.
If you are not going off-road and you will have it replaced at the next service in less than 1000km I suspect you won't have any problems.

Hi Rohan,
It all depends on what caused it to become "all chewed up" in the first place.

Best Wishes,
Peter
