In theory - pretty easy.
In practice - much more of a PITA than you'd think.
But it's doable.
Oh wait I just realised you are talking about one of those newfangled ones. They might be different.

Should be pretty easy. Take off the drivers side flair and you should be fine ;)

Mmmm, have you NO AM radio?
This is an investigation in progress for me.
I think from what I have learned thus far, left rear window, but dont quote me on that.
I have resorted to driving around with an AM radio up on the dash:eek:
FM radio and all other Sat Nav, Cd TV all good as gold.
When I open up the cover in the rear to have a look for the Aerial leads it scares the hell out of me, there are more wires and plugs in there than a I can make sense of.

Is there a more heavy duty replacement for original aerial in same hole as my FM reception is crap compared to my BMW X5 previously
Should be pretty easy. Take off the drivers side flair and you should be fine ;)

I recently got a new antenna for my Defender radio which has am/fm/and shortwave. I got it from 'Mobile one' at Camden airport. Peter was extremely helpful and knowledgable, and sent me off with an MW 1, plus base and lead to suit my truck. My new antenna is 5' long but very flexible fibreglass. Not fitted yet, but it all looks very impressive.
Have a look here (http://www.mobileone.com.au/antennas/4b_amfm.html)
Don.
