Why not just pick up a kit? EeziBleed is a pressurized kit complete with various caps and seals. I picked up one last week for $42 and got the job done without hassle.

Get a decent vacuum bleeder, why it took me 30 odd years to do so is beyond me, they just work.

I fabricated a pressure bleeder with the older steel type cap, (which still fits the current Defender), but it is no where near as effective as the vac bleeder.

Cheers,

Tim

Absolutely. Since I bought mine I now enjoy bleeding brakes, and if I need to do any hub or swivel work I just remove the caliper as its easier to bleed it than to stuff around tying it up with wire and banging my head on it.

Sounds like I've just written a TV commercial - but its true!!!

PS: Tim - I reckon mine was also purchased pretty much spot on 30 years from my very first brake bleed!!!

What one have you got Steve? Mines a sidchrome job by that hooks up to the compressor, personally I the a hand pump one would be more accurate.

Its a Mighty Boy brand. Hooks up to the compressor. Its accurate enough to suck the fluid into the bottle ;)

I bled my brakes on the weekend after fitting new master & booster.

I used the vacuum method. Worked well. Although I had to go easy on the level of vacuum as too much and it would start to suck air at the bleed nipple. While air doesn't enter the brake system it made it appear air was still coming through.

I also had to regularly check the reservoir as I bled it dry twice. A slow learner.
