I am looking for a cheap camera to do short films (on day light) to place some clips in youtube.

I have a Flip Video which did cost a bit more than that. It takes 2 hours of high definition video, has zoom facility, and records in stereo. It is the size of a small calculator and fits in your palm. You have to shrink the content to e-mail it. HD files are big. Good piece of kit.

Handy for making educational personal video I imagine. Quite easily concealable.

Another option for dual purpose is a dash cam. This one has the ambarella chip that is used on GoPros and also does H.264 compression.
Just not sure how long the battery would last but it states that it charges via USB so assuming it has a battery.
