Hello all,
First time posting here, a very well organised and educational forum.
My question is: how does a 110 SW compare to a Hilux or Ranger or related vehicles in the annual cost departement? I would like to prove to my employer that a 110 SW is cost-neutral compared to a HiLux. The capped price servicing will be the killer, I presume? I know which one I would rather drive and take camping....Funnily enough, when you look at novated leases, the Hilux, Ranger, 110 SW and Amarok are all very comparable, but I start to suspect the annual depreciation of a LR is lower than the others, but the servicing costs higher, giving the same monthly cost over say 3 years? Can someone shine a light on this for me? Thanks and best regards, PJN.

When I purchased my 110 SW about 2 years ago, LR were doing a great 'Corporate Package' if you worked for a larger company. The result was a larger purchase discount and free servicing every 10,000kms for the first 3 years. I have read that the free servicing is not meant to include consumables, however I have not paid a cent for servicing yet.

I understand they have changed some of the conditions slightly, but this still might get you over the line with the boss.

Yep I got free servicing with my defender a few months ago.

Scotty and Bilbo,
Thanks for your responses, looks like I could make a good case here. Cheers, PJN

Both my brother and my cousin own toyotas new troopy and a 100 series. And I can't believe the cost of genuine Toyota parts. I know there's more aftermarket for Toyota but when comparing genuine parts land rover definitely come out on top. And to their ( and mine) surprise they've had some pretty exy repairs recently.. And in saying that I imagine being ford motored would be similar to a ranger anyway?
