After driving a half hour to work, stopping for a minor fix at one point, getting out and finding that you had left some emery paper on the bull bar. I kid you not it was just sitting there. :) I would have thought the sudden rush of wind as the old crate launched of at the lights would have taken care of any lose bits of emery. :D

I was doing the taillight globes on the RRC when I first got it.
Undid all the screws and removed both lenses, leaving them sitting on the back bumper. Screws were sitting seperate from the lenses on the bar too.

Couldn't find any replacement globes at home, so hopped in the Rangie and belted into town over about 3kms of rough dirt road, bought the globes and raced back home again.

Then realised everything was sitting on the back bumper. :o :(

Sullenly went around the back of the car, and they were all still there. :D

Last night I had done some renovations on the old radiator. Must have had the emery paper in my hand one time when I had gone to the ute. Ute is under the carport and the radiator was for awhile in my work shop/shed being seen to. Front of the ute was in shadow when I had finished getting it all back together.

I've seen petrol caps and wallets (!) travel on the roof of cars for half a mile or more through town until the right hand turn onto the highway. Wish that I lived out that way as a kid ......... (and I'm not talking about a petrol cap collection).

I've left cans of drink/coffee mugs on the Bullbar and they've still been there when I got back, I don't exactly drive like Miss Daisy either...

Today was on the A1M motorway doing about 80 miles an hour when was passed by an army Defender type Land Rover. Not a slow crawl past either they were moving much faster than me. Thought that was unusual to see a Defender going so fast must be a sort of company car thing until a few minutes later I was passed by a 2012 registered civilian 110 Defender doing a similar speed. Not sure why yours are so slow.

I remember Peter Wherrett's comment when testing a diesel Holden Gemini in the early 80's on the ABC's Torque program -

He looks at the camera and says 'You know you are going slow when you are overtaken by a Land Rover' and a Series Rover trundles by in the right hand lane.............

I keep a tally of how many cars I pass in my Series LR! In 12months of ownership the count is: 2.

On a trip from Mildura to Broken Hill years ago with the family in our Series III towing an Evernew caravan, the only thing I was able to pass was a guy on a push bike:o. Come to think of it on all our trips over ten years that was the only object moving in the same direction we ever passed:D.
