View Full Version : Shave for a cure

After a bit of encouragement from one of the lovely ladies at work I have signed up to do the Leukaemia foundation's Shave for a cure. It's all going to happen on the 12th March next year. I have sported a mo for the last 40 years and reckon it must be worth a buck or two to see it and my hair gone:o
Attached is a "before" pic and I will post up an "after" one once the deed is done. Any sponsorship or donation to see my ugly mug without the hair would be greatly appreciated. This is a very worthy cause and any help to achieve my goal of $5000 will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Damien, forgot to mention that bit, yes you can donate direct to my account, send me a pm and I will supply the bank details or you can go online and donate direct if you wish. If you go direct let me know what you have donated and I will add that to my total figure. I will forward an official receipt for any donations through my account. Thanks:)

Bump.
Surely there must be more than 2 members out there that are willing to donate a few bucks to a worthy cause like this. I was hoping for a much better response. Hoping to raise $5000 by March next year. Even a couple of bucks a month would help me to raise this amount. Come on fellas, I have helped a lot of members on this forum over the years, now is the time to help me raise a few dollars to support this very worthy cause.

One of our SES girls did a shave in public last year (sky fire Canberra) raised heaps! So much more of a big deal for a girl IMO.

BUMP
Early March is shave time fellas, anyone else want to support this worthy cause and donate something. Even a single $1 will help towards my target. I had hoped to be up around the $2K level by now but had a bit of a setback with illness over Christmas and part of this month so am nowhere near that amount yet. Next month I will be back on deck and out actively chasing some donations and sponsorship around Mackay/Hay Point/Sarina areas. On the plan is a sausage sizzle on a Saturday morning outside Bunnings. They are a great fundraiser and I have always supported clubs etc that do it. You cannot walk past them with the smell of the sausage and onions!!!:D. Hoping you can support this worthy cause.

Thanks for the reminder, I completely forgot about this! ..................
I kept forgetting to do this too, but now it's sorted!:D
Come on people, get behind Brian for a good cause.:thumbsup:
It's not easy to lose facial hair when you've had it a looooooooooooong time, (don't know if I could do it) so dig deep & make it worth his effort. :clap2::clap2::clap2:

????????????????????????
Not sure what you are on about here:confused:
All I am trying to do is raise a few dollars to help fellow Australians who have leukaemia, not debating about what causes it.

Bump!
Hia there folks.
Flicked a PM to Bearman to check this was okay.
My girlfriend is also doing the worlds greatest shave. Can't say I'm overly thrilled about it, she has such lovely hair....
Anyway.
If you can spare a few funds to help her get to her goal, please do, I'll be sending some money towards Bearman myself.
If you can spare a few bucks to split between the two that would be fantastic :)

Come on people, flick that $20 you were going to use to grab a six pack towards a good cause.
Believe me, you're going to hear me grumble about her lack of hair until it grows back, might as well do something to abate it! :D
Cheers

A friend of mine did it a few years back. She had great fun with the whole G.I Jane thing...
Unlike my hair, hers grew back properly! Haha!
It's all for a great cause.... Any support is good
