Is it possible, or only to RSL's. Any ideas of price? Where does one start?

"That is my parking spot!"

I know where there is a Centurion for sale.

How cool would it be, I can park it here and give it a run. Maybe run over some stuff. The real hassle would be the low loader to move it.
Just got me thinking if its possible. My father in law likes engineering on all sorts of odd things. If you could buy one I'm 50% there. And what's even better the wife didn't say no.

I had a tank, but when I parked it in the disabled parking bays at the local Woolies, they got upset.......

......so I parked it in the freezer section instead

I would say you are 95% there now just to find out if you can buy them

None of the Leopards are being released to the public, they will either be static monuments at RSL clubs (on loan from the Army), exibits at the Pucka tank museum or targets for the RAAF.

That's a shame, I'd expect it to be decommissioned, and I guess they are a hard item to stop of the drivers having a bad day. But to be used for target practice doesn't seem right. Plenty of old cars for that carry on.

Yeah, if you want to see them up close and personal, then get along to the tank museum at Puka at some stage. There are plenty there, including a bridge laying unit - it is huge...:)

We used to live near this place when he first started :) Tanks Alot, Tank Driving, Tank Driving Gift Vouchers, Corporate Tank Driving Events (http://www.tanks-alot.co.uk/)
He seems to have expanded a bit since then which confirms it was a great idea at the time. Maybe there should be something similar over here ;)

Yeh Jerry I think almost everyone would or is impressed by a tank. To have a bit of land and perhaps sell joy rides may cover the fuel cost at least.
Been watching some youtube on what tanks can do. Just amazing really that 60T can hammer along at 80km/h and let go a round over a jump.

To maintain a tank properly, you do at least 5 hours maintenance for every hour of operation. Tank spares are expensive and getting hard to acquire.

Kinda takes the shine off owning and operating a main battle tank.
