Reverse Light discovery i

When my reverse lights weren't going and globes tested ok,I installed a new switch. But no fix only when manual gear stick held over in the reverse position. Apparently something worn in the r380 box, is there a fix for this any help appreciated diagrams would help, thanks:D

I had this problem with my 96 Disco. After trying various fixes (even pulling out the selector from the the top of the box - a little pawl gets worn) and removing the washer fronm the old switch. Purchased a replacement swith from AllFourx4 and no problems.
