Hi all,
Some kind soul decided to breaks mirrors on cars parked in the street one night. As such the glass on the drivers side mirror is broken. LandRover Artarmon Service Centre say they will have to import (Landrover Australia do not have stock) the glass from UK and it will have arabic writing on it (not want I want).
I have contacted Britax in Australia (OEM supplier with car) and they do not have the E11 00463 mirror as a part in Australia. I have given them the UK part number (7812.161 from the Britax UK parts list) and they are working on this to see if they can source the mirror (yet to be confirmed), but if it can be done it could be some months via a container of parts when shipped.
Has anyone solved this problem? Do you know where to get a replacement mirror?
Cheers Brad :)

I would go to a local glass shop and ask them to cut a new mirror. I believe those wing mirrors are just a glued in.

Suggest checking out Ebay or order directly from one of the UK suppliers - Paddocks, Island 4x4, Craddocks, etc.

Hi
Mine broke too.
Got a britpart replacement, which can be of variable quality and not something I normally do.
Obtained from a local supplier/distributor. - on line order service A lot cheaper than genuine. No problem in this instance
I'd do the same again.

Hi
I obtained replacement mirrors from Classic Land Rover Tel 02 47542642 for my 130 some time ago with out any problems. In my case I ordered the full mirror including the arm but from memory you can just order the mirror part that was quite cheap.

I can vouch for the britpart replacement, wouldn't know the difference and half the price i'm sure.

Ebay is your friend. You'll find the ebay mirrors are the same brand as the ones you get from LR at about 1/4 of the price.. :)
P.S. I have been told not to get the larger ones as the vibration in them is not good but the normal size ones are the same ones the car comes with as standard.

Just ordered one from Paddock in UK. Cost 8 pounds. Not sure what freight would be as I have ordered a heap of other stuff as well.

Hi all,
Thank you all for your assistance on a mirror replacement.
Britax UK are the OEM supplier for the Defender factory and Britax Australia stock the full replacement mirror (part umber 4003-161) and replacement mirror head (part no. 4003-189), but not replcement mirrors. The replacement mirror head (Britax Australia part number 4003-189, their major distributors are Burson Automotive, Truck Line) is the best option. I have ordered a mirror head from Burson Brookvale ($60 plus $10 freight from Brisbane).
This may help for future reference.
Cheers Brad
