After a short wait for my 2013 Freelander 2 I'm had the car for a month and now over 3000Km later. So far I'm impressed with the baby beast.

I've not taken it further off road then maintained dirt road so far but I'm looking forward to getting her very muddy. Just done around town and highway driving so far.

The car takes the bumps of country roads effortlessly and gives a smooth ride, I've been jostled more hitting speed humps in Sydney :D. The diesel engine took the hills between Sydney and Newcastle at 110km/h sitting around 1700rpm, I could almost hear the engine saying "Hill??? what hill?" Fuel consumption is a little is a little higher then what the sticker says but only by .3lt

I've even had a few other Land Rover drivers wave or return a wave.

So far very happy with my baby Land Rover.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your Freelander, they are a great car. I just drove my 2007 petrol version from the Hunter Valley to Brisbane and return and didn't get a single wave, even from other Freelander drivers! I offered plenty of waves myself though.:p

Mine has over 160,000km on it now and averaged 12.5L/100km even towing the camper trailer

I haven't reset the fuel consumption counter on my 2011 HSE SD4 for over 20,000km now, and it hasn't budged off 7.7 l/100km for over 6 months, so I guess with even my heavy right foot and a willingness to use that pearler of an engine, that is a fair consumption test, my driving being about 65% country (hilly, twisty, Tasmania ;) with a few mainland sprints thrown in) and 35% town. I think the car is fully run in now at 53,000km as well, as the fuel consumption was 8.2 for the first 10,000 when things were very tight.

Aside from the driver's seat lumbar support not working when I got the car (fixed under warranty, of course), nothing has gone wrong with it at all. It used 500ml of oil during the first 10,000km, but uses absolutely none between services since then.
