Hi all,

I recently fitted a keyed ignition into my 110 Perentie GS

I wired as follows;
Pole 1 : White/Red (Starter)
Pole 2 (double terminal) : Brown wire (12v feed)
Pole 3 : White/Black (Fuel) and Red/Brown (Glow Plugs)
Pole 5 : White (Ancillary)

Pole 3 is run, and Pole 1 is turnover

I pressumed the glow plugs would cut out on a timed relay, but I believe this isn't the case, should I be wiring them onto Pole 1?

There is no timer, you hold the key in the 2nd position and count XX seconds then go to start.

hmm, I've fitted QRF100880 which only has 4 poles.

Think I might buy a generic glow plug relay

Glow plugs?

I thought they were just blanks for compression test points :)

That's all mine get used for...

Would be hard to find in OZ a place cold enough to need them. I have the 4bb1 which is much the same motor. Have been that cold that the doors had iced up and where hard to open. Minus two from memory. No glow plugs used. Motor did not rotate a full turn and fired up. The joys of direct injection which has made glow plugs irrelevant. Dam handy though for indirect injected motors. Hmm around mount Kosciuszko or Charlotte pass you may need them. Has got to -23 Celsius.

While it starts ok without, I usually give the key a pause on the glow plugs when it gets at / below -8.
