1998 d1 door problem

Hi guys, I've always had problems with the right hand side back door on my disco, The child lock mechanism (atleast im assuming thats what it is) has broken on it once before so it cant be opened from the inside, no matter what way the catch is on. Had it fixed only to break again 6 months later exact same problem, Since then I just left it but now I've noticed once the door is open it's quite hard to shut, I have to slam it so it will actually shut.

Its only ever been this door thats done it, every other door has been problem free. Is this a common problem on d1's?

Can anyone recommend a fix?

I've never heard of that problem, may replace the whole catch mechanism and check that the door is in alignment.
