I still hate the old saying: but in hindsight we would have known betterone.
My response is hindsight is reserved for those who have no foresight.
Also is a glass 1/2 full or half empty. Simple if you are presented with a glass with no history to it, it is just half a glass of water or whatever. However if you are there and see it being filled up you could say it is half full and the reverse if being emptied it is half empty.
Simple realy?

The air/water interface being at the 50% level of the interior volume of the water glass as set by an imaginary plane across the wider end of the cylindrical portion of the vessel in question..................... ^_^

You can't have 50% water and 50% air. You have to include the vapour at the air/water interface so, if there were equal proportions of air and water by volume, the glass would either be less than half full or less than half empty.

Less than half empty.
Vapour is neither water nor air. It is in a state of flux.

While everyone else is arguing over full vs empty, the opportunist drinks it!
Could have been a nice glass of scotch....

Maybe the glass is just twice as big as it needs to be?
And the length of string is twice half its length ;)

The optimist says "the glass is half full", the pessimist says "the glass is half empty" and the corporate restructuring consultant says "do you realize you have way too much glass for all that water, I will restructure that for you".
