I know its probably on here somewhere, but I have searched so please don't yell at me. I want to paint my early 11a 109 wagon back in its original grey, but I'm confused because there is mid grey, dove grey, dark grey and a host of others. As far as I knew we only had 1 grey to choose from in Australia, but wich one was it? And does anyone have a code for it? The internet is a wonderful thing but sometimes it gives us more information than we need!

Thanks Collins, I just read through that link and it was only about the engine colour in a series 3. Nothing about body colours at all.

Hello again..
Funny you should mention greys... We went thru this a few months ago. SWIMBO spotted a Series vehicle in LRO and piped up "that's it.. That's the colour I want"... After an email to LRO we got an answer. The grey we want is Land Rover "Mid Grey" and here is a pic of a LWB with Mid Grey paint. It works well with the Galv and older Limestone wheels and roof.. There is a thread on colours... From memory I found it by Googling 'Land Rover Paint Codes' and the AULRO thread came up in the search results... Good luck! :)

That IS a good looking rover! It looks to be on a military chassis by the spring mount extensions below the bumper. Hope mine sits just like it! Looks like mine is not mid grey either. Probably dove grey I'd say.

It's a One-Ton Land Rover, tropical roof, station wagon rear door - very nice!
About thirty years ago I tried to get the right blue-grey colour for a mid 60s Station Wagon only to be told the formula was not available. I ended up getting a Toyota Corolla colour - Heath Grey. It is a darker grey and I have the formula for it but when the wagon gets repainted I would like to go back to the blue-grey - if I can get the formula a local automotive paint supplier will make it up. Might be the colour you are after.

There was an interesting article on that land rover in issue one of "Classic Land Rover" :)
I think it looks great.

Where are you based digger?
I've done a bit more homework, The series 1 grey is Dove grey and is a nicer colour but quite close to my colour. So I'm going with that and can find a paint code.

Near Waikerie in the Riverland.
Glad youve found the colour.
